Almost fully operational!

I lack the time for a true write up and pictorial just now - but you guys deserve some pics - so here's the interim show of project Desk I took very late Sunday night. Everything I need is in place apart from that perfect task light. The hunt for all the right glass domes, odd machinations, leather bound books and more beautiful tools continues...

  1. So this is where you've been hiding. (I'm Bloodthirster off Dakka Dakka, I don't know if you remember me I've been out the hobby the past year and a half). This new painting station is a perfect nod of respect to the master himself J.B, speaking of whom appears to be on your blog, that must be all your hobby dreams come true right? Now all we need is to get you two in the same room together brainstorming ideas....

I've been looking for something similar for years, but haven't found it yet...

  3. i have similar pictures framed in distressed wood which somehow looks suitable to the chaotic style of painting - will your desk stay as pristine or will it give sway to millions of small paint splashes and globs of GS - just finished mi first ever BL novel and so i know what a twist is ......

  5. Thanks Guys,

JB - I've been giving the framing A LOT of thought. Still undecided. I want to do them justice and match the rest of the work space somehow. I love the color and how well it goes with the red brown wood!

I really love those multitudes of little drawers.

  7. mi frames are the exact same colour as your desk funnily enough - that maybe right or maybe not - what i would advise tho is plenty of mount area given them dignity of space ......

  8. This is a real working space with style. Great!

But I would die on the chair - or the chair would die under my weight. *g*

  9. I used to have a rolltop as my work area... man those were the days. Nowhere near as nice, but along with the theme of the topic, my chair was much nicer.

  13. Thanks all! :) Once I do find all the details and things I'm looking for, I think it's going to be a fairly special setup. Thing is, even the search is a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to Xmas and some downtime to do modeling.
